This is a gospel coalition article on John Walton's book that disagrees with John Walton's take on Genesis 1. Walton seems to argue that this is not the narrative of the origin of creation, instead, this passage presents creation as the cosmic temple.

Commentators point out the correlation between days 1-4, 2-5, 3-6 then God rests on the 7th day. Therefore, instead of a literal historical presentation of the origin of creation, there is something else being presented.
