Transition Comes with Loss

But we can hold on to the constants in our lives

It’s been a month since we transitioned away from Taiwan to America and thankfully the transition has been smoother than expected.

Our family spent the past 6 years in Taiwan working in a non-profit organization. After getting married, we moved to Taiwan and both of our children were born in Taiwan.

It seems like this is the trend for our family. Every time we come back to the States we take around a week to get over jetlag, and then spend the first couple of weeks fighting off a sickness.

It’s been an adjustment adjusting to life in America. The 400-dollar rent and 1.5-dollar meals we were having in Taiwan were unbeatable. We are forced to start life living with our parents and eating at home as much as we can. Though there are inconveniences, I am happy to have this opportunity to make up for the time we have been away.
